FOUNDATION PROGRAM FOR MASSAGE THERAPISTS AND ESTHETICIANS
THE ONLY EDUCATION PROVIDER APPROVED BY SOCIETY FOR ONCOLOGY MASSAGE & SOCIETY FOR ONCOLOGY ESTHETICS
Program Information
10-Hours coursework due completed 5-days before the start of your program plus 24-hours in person or live online. Once you pay your class fee you will have immediate access to the 8CE home study course materials.
This course is open to licensed or certified massage therapists, estheticians, registered nurses (RNs), and nurse aides. Individuals who are on track to become licensed or certified may also participate with the instructor’s permission.
In Person program: On the last day of class therapists provide an oncology massage or facial for a designated client case study or class location depending, someone in or with a history of cancer treatment.
Live Virtual program:
The live online program includes supervised hands-on work during the practical sessions, which begin on Day 2. With a planning around table positioning and camera angle the setup is straightforward, but it does require forethought.
Please watch the short Prac Table Setup video for guidance on positioning your table and camera for the hands-on sessions. Having a box and a few books on hand to help angle your camera is very helpful.
Day 2 & 3 — Body Buddy Required
You will be working with your Body Buddy setup for both days. Not sure how to build one? Watch the “How to Build a Body Buddy” video here.
Day 4 — Body Buddy or Human Model
You may continue working with your Body Buddy although we do recommend a human model for this session if you are able to arrange it. Your model can be a friend, family member, or neighbor — anyone who is not a cancer patient or survivor. If you plan to bring a human model, please schedule them for the last 90 minutes of class.
You will return to your Body Buddy setup for this session.
Please arrange for a human model for your final practical session — a friend, family member, or neighbor who is not a cancer patient or survivor. The practical component runs for 60 minutes during the second hour of class.
